Since its creation in 1970, and more intensely over the years, the Research and Development Department is at the centre of SIPHAT’s growth.

The company has a laboratory that is entirely dedicated to research and development, managed by a team of highly qualified scientists and technicians and equipped with well adapted and specialized high-tech material. Within the framework of innovation and efficiency initiative, SIPHAT dedicates an important part of its investments to the creation of a range of generic drugs, more diversified and less expensive, with a commitment of quality, security and efficiency in the service of the patient’s health and well-being.

SIPHAT is working in close collaboration with scientific partners and with academic research teams in order to confirm its grounded commitment in the Tunisian territory as well as for exportation.

Mission

The Research & Development Department has two main tasks:

• The development and marketing of new generic drugs in various therapeutic fields and under different pharmaceutical presentations.
• The management of the commercialized products life course.

Portfolio

In January 2011, the portfolio of the Research and Development Department counted between 10 to 15 projects in the course of development, 5 of which were the purpose for marketing authorization request near the public health authorities.

• Selection of the active substance
• Pre-formulation, elaboration and manufacturing processes validation
• Validation of the analytical methods and their transfer
• Stability study
• Elaboration of the marketing authorization file
• Transfert and Industrial production
